Mutter hält ihr Baby in einer liebevollen und unterstützenden Haltung

WHAT IS EEH?

Emotional First Aid (EEH) is a body-oriented method that is used in crisis and developmental counseling as well as in the field of parent-baby therapy. The approach has its roots in body-oriented psychotherapy and the findings of modern brain, trauma and attachment research.

Emotional First Aid in its current form was developed on this basis in the 1990s by the Bremen psychologist and body psychotherapist Thomas Harms. In addition to outpatient counseling and parent-baby therapy, EEH is used in early intervention, parent training and clinical fields of work.

Emotional First Aid aims to break the cycle of fear, tension and insecurity at an early stage by means of targeted conversations, supportive touch and awareness exercises. This noticeably strengthens the closeness to the child. A sensitive and loving dialog is then easier – even in these difficult moments.
